Take down the dark lord and his Death Eater army as a team under the Order of the Phoenix with USAopoly’s newly announced game, Harry Potter: Death Eaters Rising. A card and dice co-op game that inspires working together, the gameplay is setup the same as the Avengers version Thanos Rising, only the central baddy piece has been swapped out as well as the characters and theme.
Games designer Patrick Marino says:
“HARRY POTTER: Death Eaters Rising captures the difficulties and terrors Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger faced during their fifth year at Hogwarts as they scramble to persuade the wizarding world of Voldemort’s return.
Just as setbacks and devastation befell Harry and his friends during their journey, players can expect an equally challenging path to success in Death Eaters Rising that makes victory much more rewarding.”
You face Voldemort in the centre of the board, who rotates launching his powers and followers against each player. You and your team will be recruiting characters to join the Order and Dumbledore’s Army, along with an array of characters such as Harry, Ron, Hermione, Dumbledore, Mad-Eye Moody, Sirius Black, McGonagall, Hagrid, Snape, and plenty more!
You will also be battling enemies like Lucius Malfoy, Bellatrix Lestrange, Peter Pettigrew and others who wish to control the main locations in the wizarding world, such as Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade and the Ministry of Magic.
Players win by defeating Voldemort and his Death Eaters before they corrupt and rule the wizarding world. The game is based on the fifth film, not the book, so be aware all images and references being from the movie.
Death Eaters Rising is scheduled for release this Autumn. It’s made for 2-4 players, ages 11 and up, with an estimated runtime of 45-60 minutes. This is the third HP table top game from studio The OP this year, after Scrabble: World of Harry Potter and Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle – Defence Against the Dark Arts. They’ve been on quite the roll with these, so there’s more than enough here for you to explore the magic on your table! Read more about the game here!
